There’s good reason Hotel Alpenrose has earned such an outstanding reputation as a hiking hotel: The Dolomites, Mt Catinaccio/Rosengarten, and Mt Latemar are right on its doorstep. We’ll reveal our favourite tours a little bit later. Climbing fans, get your rope and hooks ready: The six peaks of Vajolet Towers and Santner Pass are a real must. Lace up your boots and head right into the adventure!

Stadl Alm circular trail

Perfect for warming up: This easy tour offers stunning views of the Dolomites during your first day here in our hotel near Lake Carezza/Karersee. It leads from the Latemar sawmill on a slightly ascending forest path to Stadl Alm pasture. Once there, make sure to try their farm products. Return on trail 27 that leads past Geigerhof farm to the starting point and then back to our hiking hotel. Dolomites and Mt Catinaccio/Rosengarten – we’re coming!

Hike to Latemar hut

Walking time: 4:00 hours
Length: 7.3 kilometres
Altitude difference: 752 metres

Without a doubt one of the most spectacular tours in the Mt Latemar region. The views are simply mesmerising! Take the Oberholz chairlift in Obereggen (about 30 minutes by car from our hiking hotel in the Dolomites near Mt Catinaccio/Rosengarten). At the mountain station, walk to the viewing platform Latemar.360°, then continue to Passo Feudo/Satteljoch and over the rocky path to Latemar hut. Stopping by is highly recommended! Descent is via the north side into the Valsorda basin and via a rocky path back to the mountain station of Oberholz lift.

Hike along Hirzel trail to the Christomannos monument

Length: 8.1 kilometres
Altitude difference: 377 metres

This tour takes you directly from our hiking hotel into the Dolomites near Mt Catinaccio/Rosengarten! Take the Paolina chairlift. From the mountain station, follow trail 539 to the Christomannos monument. Then trail 549 to Rifugio Fronza alle Coronelle/Kölner Hütte. From there, follow trails 549 and 552 back to the Paolina chairlift and then on to your sports hotel at Lake Carezza/Karersee.
